How many times do you need to say a word for it to be part of your vocabulary?
The average person needs to hear something twenty times before they truly learn it. To make a word part of your vocabulary, you should use it as often as you can - look for ways to use it in conversations, write it down, look for it on a sign or listen for it in conversations around you. You don't have to actually count how many times you have used it, because then you are thinking about the number and not the word!

\n. \n Remembering Words as a Toddler \n. \nDepends on the toddler. We as humans learn from repetition to begin with. There is no norm. The best thing to do is to constantly associate the word to the toddler, the more you do the easier it is for them to learn it.
Answer . With many guys (but not all) it means they want all the fringe benefits (such as a sexual relationship) without committing to a relationship. Some guys will tell you this because they truly aren't ready to have a relationship and if they were decent about it they would move on and let …you move on. Women have total control when it comes to such a remark, so if you're smart give him all the space he wants ... kick his butt out the door! (MORE)
It means he is probably still wondering whether he likes you enough to start a relationship. Keep things casual for awhile and give it time. Don't smother him, that will turn him off. Remember, guys love the chase! If you are always available and always in his face, it's not a challenge for him and …he'll be turned off. (MORE)
Answer . it means he cares for you but in the long run doesnt want to be with you.. but because he cares his way of biding time is to tell you to wait. Buy the book: "He's just not that into you" I'm serious. It'll help
well, I heard it is about 5000 words! 5000 may be the number of words a typical person uses. When it comes to vocabulary, it is important to distinguish between the words someone understands, and the words they actually use. An average adult with English as a first language understands between 5…0,000 and 250,000 words. Some people with very large vocabularies, such as Winston Churchill, have been estimated to understand up to 400,000 words. Most people actually use about 10% of the words they understand. So a person who understands 50,000 words probably uses about 5,000. Shakespeare used about 29,000 words in his plays & sonnets, so we might estimate that he had a vocabulary of 290,000 words. Note: There are at least 475,000 words in the English language, with some estimates as high as 1,000,000. And there are thousands added every year (Twitter, anyone?). So, there's lots to learn. Hi, Good question. Here are some interesting numbers based on my limited knowledge. Please note, these numbers are just estimates. Vocabulary Count Grade 1 Student = 1,000+ words Normal Person (Graduate) = 5,000 to 6,000+ words University Professor = 15,000+ words Spelling Bee Winners = 30,000+ (…as claimed by them) College Dictionary (Abridged) = 50,000 - 70,000 Total Words in English Language = 250,000+ (Growing) Dictionary (Un-abridged) with derivatives = 450,000+ Shakespeare used 60,000 words The above claims must be wrong. While English has hundreds of thousands of words, many are obsolete. Scientific words enter the language faster than obsolete ones die. I know a great many words, but surely not all. My guess: maybe 8,000 or 9,000 tops. Personal judgement keeps me from ever using the 2,000 or 3,000 oddballs. My education includes six years of Classics in prep school, four years at no mean college, a year of law school, and grad school at the US's supposedly top university. A working English vocabulary uses the 2,000 commonest words over and over. Shakespeare is our language's acknowledged master. An exact count of all words from works published using Shakespeare's name, totals 17,300-plus, not 60,000! Some of his as yet undiscovered works might yield a few hundred new ones, but doubtful. An English professor at a top university with a word-collecting proclivity might know 11,000 to 14,000 English words--half or more oddball words. Anyone with the basic 2,000 plus 4,000 more in a range of the more everyday specialties can read, hear, write, or speak very broadly. Claims that an accomplished master of English knows 12,000 or even 20,000 words needlessly scare any trying to master English at a higher level. [The imagined professor is an extreme word-collector not a word-user.] Knowing 6,000 words is challenge enough. The estimated extra words I know over 6,000 are just for my personal amusement. People would justifiably either shun me or throw things at me for using those oddities. I urge all to quit hyperventilating like Chicken Little and unthinkingly repeating others' claim. So if I said "The sky is falling!" would you repeat it? If that question still has intuitive appeal, try this instead: "Your retrievable vocabulary needs not over 6,000 words to make you a master of the English language." (MORE)

Ive known my ex for over a year now since she started at Rally's at a different store than mine but i was getting hours over their for last years holiday. When the season was over i left that store and started to get hours only at my store. We had no contact. We would always get along great but s…he was in a 2 1/2 year relationship that turned into an engagement. I started going back to see her around 3 months ago and we started visiting eachothers stores working or not. I finally told her how i felt about her and we kissed and she started to break it off with him. Weve been together for 2 months 1 week and 5 days since they broke it off and it never really bothered her because he hit and yelled at her and knew how she would break and used it against her. Now a few days afterwards of being together i felt such a bond that i said i THOUGHT i had loved her. She told me the same thing. a few days went by and we had sex and she started to say she loved me while we were having sex. After that we had sex about every night and a couple more times she said maybe its not fair to say I love you since we only said it during sex. A few more days past and afterwards she said its not fair to only say it during sex and she could feel that she did love me and maybe i wasn't completely ready for that but i could feel it. Our bond grew through the past couple of months and she started saying after the first month that i saved her and she would have no problem going with me to Vegas right now(for marrige in a drive through church since it cost almost nothing). I wasn't ready for that so i said i wanted to finish school at least and get my life started but it could be a possibility down the road and she said she was fine with waiting. another week went past and she said maybe we should look for our own place. I said ok to that since i wanted to move out and by then i had a good feeling about her because she was saying i was her everything and how happy she is now since she was with me instead of her ex. Well her friends were starting to go downhill and not hanging out with them so she started to spend the night almost everynight and would bring me everywhere she went. For the past week she practically lost her best friend for 13 years and she went away and started to only see me from about 10 and then sleep and wake up about 9 and hang out with her friends without me. I brought this to her attention that i didn't know why it was changing. after i said that in the morning she ignored my calls and txts till about 6:30 when i called her phone from my house phone since it was a number she did not know because i never used it. We also have another dad together that we were adopted by (mostly religious not actually adopted) and for the past week ive kept doing what i have done but maybe a little to much since she started to tell him that i was getting annoying and clingy and that i have started to act like her ex through the things i would say and maybe its over. Her ex would not let her see her friends and he always looked through her phone every night so she had to delete txts and tell people not to call or txt since he was getting off work. I have never done this and i tried to do the opposite since she was hurt by him. I never touched her phone and i encouraged her to go see her friends even if they were guys since she reassured me that i was the one she came home to. She only told me that maybe she is not ready to have a person be their everything together yet since she was thinking about her ex boyfriend alot more now and she maybe doesn't think she had enough time to get over him even though she doesn't want to go back to him AT ALL. When i told her that i had talked to our dad over this she kept saying sorry that she didn't tell me and how i had to hear it from him. Ive been trying to give her space but it hurts so much right now since i started to believe she might be the one that i could marry even after 2 months of a relationship but knowing her for over a year. I didn't make the commitment yet but i was thinking about it more. Ive been trying to tell her that we should just do a break and not a break up but she thinks i will use this against her sometime down the road since that's how her ex did this to her. Ive told her and ive tryed to been there for her ever since it happend but i still don't feel like it is enough. I don't know how long she will be gone to go and "find herself" HELP!!! (MORE)
there is no single answer, the Oxford English Dictionary containes 171476 words in constant use and 47146 obsolete words. This suggests about 250,000 words. However with other technical additions there may be as many as 750,000 in total
Unfortunately, there is no possible way to count all words in the English language because some words could be considered as having two separate meanings and therefore there would be no true answer.
It all depends on how you count them. He uses close to 30,000 in the plays alone, including proper names. There were probably a lot more that he understood but didn't use (what is known as "passive vocabulary").

One article I read said 300 times, but I have read the book several times and I don't think the word appears that many times -- I believe that was an exaggeration for shock effect. Even if I'm wrong and the word does appear that many times, it's important to keep the context in mind; the book wa…s set in the deep south during the 1930s when Jim Crow (anti-black) laws and traditions were commonplace and the casual use of the word was (unfortunately) typical. The book's dialogue is historically accurate. More importantly, though, the book was a strong stand against racism: the themes of the book are all about racial and human equality. Written in the early 60s as the Civil Rights movement in America was beginning to stir, To Kill a Mockingbird exposed the hatred of racism as being cowardly and low-class. The N-word has become a despised and forbidden word over the decades since the 1960s, because our sensitivities have been awakened. This is a positive (though small) step in the right direction; however, when the word appears in literature reflecting earlier times in history, we shouldn't 't blot it out, censor it, and forbid the literature, in my opinion. We should certainly cringe at the ugliness of the word, and discuss the inappropriateness of the word with each other, but we shouldn't pretend it never existed. (MORE)

As many times as you want, but I don't suggest it, and technically a sentence can go on for a long time so if you're asking how many times can it be said properly then there is no correct answer to our standards
