There is no certain answer to this because there are so many variables involved. First of all insurance companies don't check motorvehicle records of current customers very of…ten unless you give them a reason to such as filing a claim. Second is that one ticket for many people would have no effect on their insurance premiums. The problem that you might run into is in trying to leave Farmers for another company.
Most companies where you purchased your auto insurance will maintain their records of your policy for up to 6 years. Most states require you file any claims within 2 years. C…all the company up and ask for records. They should be more then willing to do this...
Answer . They must let you know with enough time prior to the cancel date, (which is different than a non-renew, cancelling rarely occurs), for you to seek coverage else w…here.
I really dont know that answer.
Call your insurance company and ask what the policy is for removing coverage. You may not be able to if you signed a contract.
Auto insurance records are referred to as claims history reports. If you are receiving a quote for insurance and the new insurer is requesting a claims history letter or lette…r of experience, you will need to contact your prior company or agent to have it prepared. These letters can be faxed or mailed to you or your new insurance company. If you have been insured by more than one company in the previous 3 years you will need to contact each company you had insurance with to get a full report.
In most states, companies are required by law to give you a pro rata refund, that is give your money back for the time remaining on your policy.
I've seen it pull back 8 years but most companies only consider the past 3 years for loss penalties and some go back 5 years when trying to qualify you for premium discounts.
Yes. Sounds like you haven't had insurance for a while. You'll probably need non-standard auto.
Some companies may charge you for early cancellation, it's best to just stop making the payments and secure coverage for when it runs out.

Then you may be liable for any damage that you caused to someones property or person.
You can certainly remove any person from coverage under your own auto insurance policy. You can not however cancel another persons Policy. The first named insured on a policy… is geenrally considered the owner of the policy and can make whatever changes required. If you have a joint owned policy and with respect to common law, it migt be wiser to simlply pick up a new policy for yourself and allow the old one to lapse or expire. Happy Motoring
If you don't own a vehicle, or have no intention of driving, you do not have to maintain auto insurance.
Insurance would not require a valid registration but in order to be able to drive the vehicle you would need to register the vehicle again. You probably would not be able to r…egister the vehicle until after you insure it.
Yes, you can cancel a policy anytime you want to if you are the policyholder. I always suggest that you wait until the adjuster has a chance to look at the vehicle and determi…ne if it is totaled or not before cancelling. Speak with your agent about this matter as well. In some states you need to cancel the tag before cancelling the insurance or you will incur a fine. If it is financed you will also need to consult the finance company as well.
